One up for Auction near Belfast, I believe you can bid online too somehow. It's up on the 12th along with some other classics from someones estate. If I had money to burn i'd definitely be having a punt for it. Surely someone on here wants one of the worlds most iconic cars?

Mmmm, some interesting cars on there that could fetch good money, I went to the States in 1982 and the Delorean had just been launched when I saw one back then it was a car to die for unfortunatly not now :)

B)

.... apparently they are not that good to drive :scare:

They were originally, as they were based on a lotus esprit chasis, but for some unknown reason they raised the front end of them just before it was launched, which totally screwed up the handling. A lot of owners drop the front end back to how it was designed originally.

Performance wise, they are slow as my lawn mower as they are quite underpowered. I think its something like 150hp for European models and 130hp for US models with all the extra anti pollution control on them.

It's both: was co-developed by Renault, volvo and also Peugeot I think. But whoever made it, I can't see 150hp being enough for a car coated in steel plating

Triumph GT6 Mk3 :cloud9:

I had one of them, a 72 K reg. Great car, paid £1250 for it, sold it for £1400 2 years later, when it was 5 years old. Only real problem was the body rot, the top of the door had to be filled and repainted and the boot wouldn't close as the area around the catch had rotted away and there were several sprouts of rust in other random places. Mechanically very good though and felt pretty fast for a car with around 100 bhp. Mine was an American export model, converted to RHD by the Triumph factory so it was probably a few bhp down and had a few non U.K standard engine parts.

just like the 350Z

must admit i appreciate the delorean, but i wouldn't want one.

isn't it the only irish sports car to date?

I believe it's the only car ever to be built over here, never mind sports car.

I really want one, but only if I could have a car collection. It'd be sitting smack in the middle, Flux capacitor included :teeth:

The Ford cosy could be worth something in the future going by what Mk1 Escort Rs's and Mexicos are selling for

The cossie value is rising now. They have gained money (as have more recent escorts) in the past few years.

I guess they are all getting pretty rare now as most of them rotted away.
