Keyser
I have had a few bikes - I promised the wife I wouldn't get another one. "It's not you" she would say "its all the other nutters on the road!" I blame the helmets they restrict the blood flow to your brain and then things get silly real quick!!!! My advice is do the CBT see if you like it then buy something a little tamer than an R6, Fireblade etc try a 250cc see how quickly you become aware of how much danger you are in then after a while maybe move up to a pocket rocket. It doesn't matter if they pull out in front of you Car v Bike = Rider will NOT win that argument!!!
Simon+Kat
If you get to the point where you have actually got a bike of your own i would definately recommend doing a track day. Not to play being Valentino, but because you will learn more in one day about control, grip, positioning, braking etc than you will in years of road riding. It doesn't matter what you ride either, you see all sorts on track days, not just race reps. Its knowing theres no body coming the other way, theres no lamp posts etc and theres loads of run off if the worst happens. You will gain loads of confidence, and you will be faster AND safer. IMO anyway,
Voodoo Vix
My boyfriend's cbt ran out about 12 years ago and hadn't ridden a bike since. In October last year he did his cbt then his bike licence (you do need to do theory test also) about a week later lol his mate who had no experience and done his cbt at the same time (who is also a bit nuts and accident prone lol) loves his 125 and is so much cheaper on fuel than the car. My other half on the other hand didn't want a little bike so bought a 750 mainly because he does a lot of motorway and needed more guts) and is now trying to persuade me to do mine lol We now have supra tt, 350z, pug 307 and Suzuki gixer 750 lol
