Targa Bambina in NZ

The latest installment of what's happening down here in NZ.

Went to Targa Bambina on Saturday. Targa Rally is a big event in terms of the numbers of competitors at the main event in October, usually about 250 cars. Targa Bambina had about 130 cars competing. So still a reasonable sized event, with full road closures for the event. We went to watch two stages. :D

Stage 4 corner at Ostrich Farm Road was busy, in terms of the number of Z Club people that were spectating, probably making up about 1/4 of the number of people at that corner. :D Thanks to a very chatty farmer and his family that came out to watch the event, pity we didn't get an invite to the champagne breakfast though.

As soon as the road was opened we had to head that way anyway to the next stage, so we drove stage 4. Driven many times for rallies, but often at night time.

Drift car display that came though before the Targa Tour cars:

These Zeds are too slick and too quick :drive1:lol: to get a lock on a camera, slightly out of focus:

Cool pics as usual B)

You get about a bit don't ya?

We do have regular meets, summer and winter. Mind the previous week we had one event I had to cancel due to heavy rain, :scare: couldn't risk our lot on wet paddocks doing a gymkhana. :( We go to lots of other events too. Always something happening.

Good effort! It still amazes me how much NZ rural countryside often looks exactly like Merry old England.

It does in some areas yes, might be because of the imported trees that grow like weeds here in our climate. The second stage is in Northern end of the Waikato which is quite flat, right in the heart of farming country. The first stage farming again, but very hilly.

Love NZ, cannot wait to visit again, just a shame is so far from the UK...one of the few places in the world me and the wife wouldn't mind moving to longterm :)

Haha, it's not really. Just a wee flight across the ocean. :plane: Next time you head here, come in our summer, Feb or there abouts, stacks of events on, you might even manage some more sight seeing.

Great pictures again. GT40 looks brilliant

+1 B)

Great Pics

Was an absolute mission on that corner, as it's a very fast bit of road, you have to try and lock on and pan with it, to get the shot. :surrender::lol:
