Pioneer SPH-DA01 AppRadio

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I recently just purchased the Pioneer SPH-DA01 AppRadio and fully installed it yesterday

After reading various install guides I purchased a ICT 29-672 Cable (This allows a new headunit to be connected to the bose system whilst still retaining the steering wheel controls) and a 29-007 Cable (This is a Pioneer specific adapter for the above cable) to hopefully retain all functionality of my steering wheel controls.

I have fitted the unit and the everything seems to work fine except my steering controls and the mic (using the original mic already installed in the car.

Can anyone help me in what I may have done wrong or just completely missed out on doing to resolve this problem.

Thanks,

Chris

Thanks dave,

Your post made me realise my stupid mistake and now the unit works.

I am a bit disappointed from the sound quality that i'm getting now though. With the standard Bose unit I was able to crank the volume up with little distortion and now just turning it up a little give quite poor sound quality, in particular from the rear speakers.

Other than upgrading the entire system is there anything I can do?

Well I know with my old Pioneer unit I needed line boosters with the stock Bose amp & speakers. Are you having to turn it up VERY loud just to hear anything? For example on my pioneer the volume went to 60 and I used to run it on 56 without line boosters :scare::surrender:

unfortunately the Bose (not even sure they are Bose) amp & speakers are pretty poor, you need to change the HU for functions and looks but if you want SQ you will have to change the speakers and amp. I keep getting shouted down for saying that on here but it is a fact, anyone who says differently obviously has their ears attached to their ar$e

Glad to be of help Chris

That's all very helpful!

I have to turn it up quite loud but when I do it also sounds very distored.

The head unit only has one pre out so I am having to use a splitter to run the standard speakers.

I think I will end up upgrading my system as I'm used to the quality of JL and alpine.

The Bose system it adequate if you haven't been used to anything better I guess but I might be expecting to much from the Bose speakers.

Watch this space for more I.C.E upgrades!
