Dave J
Just fitted a set of Brembo discs & calipers but i just can't seem to get the air out of them. I did forget to tighten one pipe when i went to speak to a customer so i pulled in a load of air I spent a couple of hours bleeding them this morning in the correct order of R/N/S , F/O/S, R/O/S then F/N/S but there still seems to be air in the system. I've checked every pipe for leaks, there are none and i've checked every fitting and they are all nice and tight. Would the ABS pump also need bleeding? I've changed brakes many, many times and never had this problem before Any advice gladly accepted!!! Dave.

Can I ask how many bleed nipples you are bleeding and if are you bleeding using the traditional method ie: 2 men, bottle and hose or are you using specialised brake bleeding equipment.? Also did you allow the brake master cyl. reservoir to run dry? Alex

Bleeding 6 nipples, 1 on each rear then inner and outer on the fronts. 2 men, bottle, clear hose and i may have quite possibly run the master cylinder to run dry at one point Dave. Bleeding 6 nipples, 1 on each rear then inner and outer on the fronts. 2 men, bottle, clear hose and i may have quite possibly run the master cylinder to run dry at one point Dave. If you have the Brembos fitted to the rear, there is also 2 bleed nipples on each of them, one inside and one outside, as with the fronts. So you should be bleeding 8 nipples in total. Be aware that the the inside rears very often are seized, (as I found out yesterday!) so give them a good squirt of penetrating fluid a while before hand and be prepared to replace the nipples. (M10x1 nipples) I spent 3 hours getting 2 nipples out yesterday! I ended up resorting to a blowtorch and heat cycling them and gently working them back and forth. Damn Nissan putting steel nipples in an alloy caliper! Also, if you have run it dry you may have to use around 1-1.5 litres of fluid to get all the air out. ZMANALEX
That is your problem mate: As Sam has said there are 8 bleed nipples in total. Should have went to Spec-Savers. Alex
