14N
Hi All, Thanks again for the welcome. The search has begun and the more I view pictures of a Zed, the more I want one! Quick question (I know it's probably one that's been asked many times nefore, so didn't want to begin a new thread). What are your thoughts on cars that have covered 100k miles (with good or ful service history)? My view on high(er) mileage cars it that they've spent time on the motorway 'cruising' at lower revs, rather than doing many short trips to the shops etc, which effectively would/could casue more wear an tear on mechanicals and interior etc. Is this the case on the 3.5l v6? For example, a car I've spotted in the right colour, right spec etc is currently on eBay at my kinda money. (Link below). If they'll give me a decent p/x value on my TT, so you think it's worth the 2 and a half hour drive to talk business? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/400281813011? ... 1423.l2649 Or there's this one, a little further away for me, but again, the right colour (IMO) I'm waiting to hear from them about the service history though. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/320861474771? ... 1423.l2649 Your thoughts are welcome. Squirt350
Hi Ian. Sorry to hijack the thread. I've just traded in a 2001 tt 225. I got 3890 for it. Just to give you a rough idea. As for your mileage question. I Don't know... The car I bought had covered 87k. Full service history. No problems so far.... apart from the common Bose cd problem. Anyway... Happy hunting! 14N
Hi Dan, Thanks for your response. Jeez, that's a good price for your TT! I've tried a couple of places and the general consensus seems to be about £2500. We buy any car have said £2600 - £2800 (ish) but I'd expect to be offered less when I turn up to do the deed. One place has offered me £1500 in part ex for a Zed! I'd rather keep it as a winter car for that! How does the Zed compare to the TT? You stopped grinning yet? Cheers, Ian
Squirt350
Yes I was quite pleased with the price... As for grinning no I haven't! The tt had a few mods and was running about 290bhp. Zed is standard. So tt was a bit sharper lower down the revs. But the zed keeps on pulling and the sound is just so much better! The best bit is the rwd. So much more fun! You wouldn't regret changing! Dan

C.J
I made the move from a TT225 to the Zed. The ONLY thing I miss from the TT, is the 4WD in the snow. Other than that, the Zed is a better car all round.
14N
That's a bit spooky C.J! I was just reading your ad for your car, wishing I had a slightly bigger budget! Why you now selling the Zed? Are you sure I can't convince you that getting rid of your TT 225 was the worst decision you ever made and that you REALLY need another one? Maybe a nice black Y2000 one? And also maybe convince you that my car is worth about £5k? Look into my eys, not around the eys, look in my eys. 3,2,1 and you're back in the room. Now, you want a TT dont you C.J.... C.J
That's a bit spooky C.J! I was just reading your ad for your car, wishing I had a slightly bigger budget! Why you now selling the Zed? I need more seats, which I'm beginning to doubt (When myself and my wife socialise with friends, we're left with either her car, or my friend's. I prefer to take my car ) Each time I take the Zed out, I convince myself it's not worth changing.
14N
Well, there are currently a couple I have my eye on, on eBay. Looking at what previous cars have sold for, they might be within my budget. They're private sales, but I'll just price the TT low and hope for a quick sale once I've secured the Zed. What do you think to these? Do they/have they belonged to anyone on here? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/110842902213? ... 1423.l2649 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/130668186275? ... 1423.l2649
