Carlin
Gave the zed a good wash today to find not one but two scratches on my rear panel behind the drivers door!!!!!!! Just wondered whats the best way to deal with it. They are both around 10mm long and pretty deep .Also on the black car stick out a mile . Also dont think polishing them out would even touch them . Help needed and wondered if anyone new of someone close to me in carluke
Lexx
If you can feel the scratch with your thumb nail, then no amount of polishing will remove it. Respray will sort it.
Carlin
Doh Does that mean I need to get the full panel done so it matches or just touch up the scratches ?? Think I might cry !!!!!!!!!
MattyV6
Get a touch up kit from Nissan. Touch up the area so the scratch is filled with paint. Let the paint properly harden for a couple days and then have at it with polish/cutting compound to get it smooth with the rest of the paint. I did this with a massive 10cm scratch on my old car (accident with a needle stuck in a microfiber cloth ) and it made it very hard to notice. You could still see it in the right light or if you were looking for it, but it was hughly better than a scratch! And a LOT cheaper than painting the whole panel
Carlin
Think ill get a pro to do it as not very good at stuff like that. hoping they can mask it a bit rather than a re spray job.

Richyfingers
I bought some of that Dr Colourchip a couple of years ago for my dc2. Worked pretty well on few scratches.
