geoff-r
Might explode my laptop if I installed it mind you it's run better on Win 7 than it ever did on the terrible Vista it came installed with.

spursmaddave
Its only a beta version and I can see a lot of people not upgrading....! It would be great on a touch screen but really doesn't work on a normal screen with a mouse.... Probably lots of changes before it goes retail anyway
Zugara
Is it a free download dave might give it a bash just to see.
lrh
They're purely tarting up Windows 7 so it can be used on tablets. Vista = NT 6.0 Win 7 = NT 6.1 Win 8 = NT 6.

spursmaddave
Might give this a try on my laptop as it's got a multi-touch screen... Should work well with that The gui is based on the new Xbox one that came out a few months back...
Chris`I
Might give this a try on my laptop as it's got a multi-touch screen... Should work well with that The gui is based on the new Xbox one that came out a few months back... Which in itself is based on the phone GUI, they are trying to present one GUI for all Windows family products. Not sure how well a PC will work with touchscreen gestures, think I will stick to W7 unless they have significant performance increases for SSDs etc.

sasha@lazytrips
Windows 7 is the only decent thing that came out of Microsoft since XP Pro and judging from the pictures Win8 is really not what I need for a complex multi-monitor set up so think it's gonna be a pass for now. Dblock
IMO microsoft is never any good at playing catchup. They need to innovate and I think win 8 was pretty kneejerk and just to tie into their mobile/touch screen market with windows mobile. Looks like too little too late IMO.
