TomS
I've used Parcel2Go and Interparcel before many times. They are just a 3rd party service which displays the prices of couriers such as DHL, FedEx. Then you just pick what you want, generally the cheapest with insurance. I've never had an issue with them even when I had to put a claim through it took no time and they sent a cheque out. Another one is http://www.paisleyfreight.com/ that I know quite a few people use for sending wheels.

Dblock
My Hermes for small stuff, parcel money for medium/large and paisley freight for big stuff like wheels.
Squee
If it's particularly heavy or oversized then try www.shiply.com where couriers bid for the job. If the seller is unwilling to wrap/pack the item then you can specify it in the job description... If you arrange for someone like ParcelForce to collect and when they there it's not suitably prepared for transit then they could decline to take the item. Hope you manage to get it sorted it often amazes me on ebay where an item has gone for a stupidly low price as the seller states 'collection only' because they can't be bothered to price up couriers...it's not that hard! _BR1TT0N_
Thanks for the help guys! Had a nightmare because couriers wouldn't take an unpackaged item but after many calls, dhl agreed to help and way cheaper too!
