MRH 350Z
I think it has been generally agreed by the people that have had it done, Will350z, SMD and recently me that it is probably one of the more subtle exhaust upgrades. It gives a nice deeper note generally without drone at motorway cruising speeds, is "there" when in town but not "in your face" and has a nice forceful tone at 3.5/4k revs. Exhausts are very much a personal thing and I would strongly advise that you try and hear some before you but, SMD, who does like a zorst , has had three I think and although he liked the noise of the previous systems, for him they were too over powering all the time and he eventually switched to the Milltek and then went for the Berks HFC's, Will and I have since done the same. But then Dave has all the good ideas first Hmmm.... this could be a future upgrade!? Can I ask: does the Berk HFC make a MASSIVE difference to the volume? I quite like the Milltek - but a bit more noise would be acceptable to me. Sorry: I was not clear I already have the Milltek; would the addition of a HFC make a BIG difference on top of the Milltek? I should have asked that originally
DannyBoy
Whereabouts are you, if you already have the Milltek it might be an idea to find someone local with Milltek+Berks and go for a drive to see the difference for yourself. I have the Milltek+Berks and love it. You can hear the exhaust but it isn't intrusive. Growls up to 3.5k then you get the quirky 'rasp' then after 4k it really starts to howl DB

I should have asked that originally Yes the hfc make a big difference on top of the milltek. Its a lot deeper and sounds so much better. Its like stereo surround for the milltek. One noteof caution however. The berks do add a slight metallic rasp around 4k which some people really dont like. Me i love it. Adding the berks to the milltek was oneof the best things ive done to the car. Definitely recommend heading to oneof the local meets and hearing the combo for yourself before you decide. spursmaddave
Yes as stated I have had lets say more than 1 exhaust combo The Buddy Club is an awesome exhaust the noise is immense even at idle but omg the drone I have spent a LOT of money on my I.C.E. so I would like to be able to hear it Will came up with a very good description of what the Berks do, he said it was like giving the Milltek viagra You not only get a much deeper growl of a noise but the overall volume is increased a bit too. Yes it is a quiet exhaust only very slightly louder than stock but thats ideal for some
coldel
I have Milltek and Berks on mine (plus a Stillen induction kit - certainly an option to add something like a JWT intake if you dont think M+B is loud enough) and sounds perfect for what I want. When I drive off to work at 7am I can leave without feeling the wrath of the neighbours, when I turn onto the Windsor relief road and give it some around 3.5k-4k revs it really comes alive and roars pretty loud - I get the metallic rasp also, have to say I dont 'love it' but its tolerable for the extra growl and free flowing exhaust you get. phil thompson
Had the Miltek fitted today, and so far so good, looks awsome from behind and the rumble note sounds great, cant decide wether to go with berks its the metalic rasp thats putting me off a bit, could do with hearing the sound track. You only get the rasp when you floor it and hold the gear change a bit... as already said if you add a pop charger or similar then you will be smiling too much to ever worry about the rasp
coldel
Vid here with the berks on a milltek...not sure how much it helps but you can hear on the 3rd/4th rev how the note changes when you give it a bit more than 4k revs
NeilMH
Interesting. Having read most of the postings about the Milltek/Berks combo I would certainly consider this. It depends how long my standard exhaust lasts for...the rear two bits are already welded together! If I'm lucky I'll get another 2 years. This year's budget is earmarked for Disks/Pads/SS braided lines. I would keep the JWT Pop Charger - I'm not worried about heat soak - I wouldn't be fighting for modest bits of BHP at the expense of the overall sound experience! Is the popping on the overrun also a normal feature?
