Hamlettmikey
Hi everyone I really need some advice. I recently got my first 350z it's an 08 plate and shortly after I got the car I noticed that when I press the clutch at idle I get a grinding feeling hrough the pedal (almost like abs feeling). The clutch release bearing was a bit noisy so I took it into Nissan. The advised a new clutch kit and a release bearing which I had fitted at a £1000 cost to me. The release bearing has quietened but only slightly and I now get the clutch pedal grinding feeling only every now and then. When the car is cold it clunks when changing into 2nd gear and as soon as its warmed up it's smooth again. I have also noticed a whistle noise when it's cold which I have no clue about. I'm concerned Nissan have no idea what they are talking about so I'm hoping you guys can help me. Has anyone had similar issues? Thanks Mike
Sam Mcgoo
I'm afraid I can't help you directly, but unfortunately most Nissan garages appear to be clueless with these cars. I would recommend finding a good independent/specialist garage near you. Where are you located? Also, say Hi in the introductions area. Hamlettmikey
Hi Sam, I live in Kent. I'm getting the feeling most Nissan dealers don't have a clue! It's effecting my love relationship with her now I just want it sorted. Surely a clutch pedal should always be smooth shouldn't it?
evilscorp
Try greasing the slave cylinder, its not hard to reach under the car and it solved my squeaky clutch(had a rough feeling near the bottom too)

Just a suggestion better and cheaper to try that rather than the normal buy a new clutch post that ppl put up.
Ebized
Try greasing the slave cylinder, its not hard to reach under the car and it solved my squeaky clutch(had a rough feeling near the bottom too) Thee was a recall on 07+ models surrounding the slave cylinder - see here: viewtopic.php?f=64&t=54842&hilit=07+recall I think it was aTSB (Technical Service Bulletin) if so, no reason for the dealer not to know about that. And the slave cylinders have been known on 350's generally to be a problem.
