JohnUKVetteNut
Hi Folks New member..I have now had my Z a week and put 1000 miles on her.GREAT. I want to put my own plate on ( I have retention cert ) but what on earth do you do with the rear plate. Its a tapered shape and my,local plate supplier cant get a shaped one, which leaves mine with slots/holes showing?? Can you get a correct shaped plate or is my JDM just weird? What do you all do with yours? Cheers JohnUKVetteNut
MFM
Peops will hate me for saying but if you go to Halfords, get THEM to measure the shape, then you can get the correct shape that covers the holes on the JDM space. I cannot remember how much but it was not much more than a normal plate to get the 'custom' shape. Mike

brillomaster
plenty of sites on the web can do plates in a variety of sizes (about a dozen if i remember correctly) cant remember where i got my plate from exactly, but have a look on google and there should be a few companies. I paid £13 for a 12x3 inch plate (tiny, i know )
evilscorp
Larger plate + hacksaw = job done. Just make sure you measure it up and give it a sand down to smooth the edges.
marzman
What colour is your zed? Get some matching tape and cover the holes, you will never see them. To be honest I've never seen a tapered plate....
nixy
I just got a new plate for my JDM so I know what you mean. I just put tonnes and tonnes of sticky tape on it and pushed it really hard into the space. It's not moving anywhere. 14 x
Wasso
The standard JDM plate size doesn't quite fit my chargespeed rear, so I had a company on the web build my plate to my specifications. Can't recall who they were, but the end result was near on perfect.
