Hennerz
Hi Guys, My clutch is now starting to slip pretty badly and after looking at a couple of threads contacted Japex, which are reasonably close to me. They said they can get an exedy clutch and a LUK dual mass flywheel, are these any good? Was also wondering what upgrades I could get that are not going to cost too much? And if i was to upgrade would i have to inform my insurance company? Thanks, Henry
coldel
for parts, might be able to get a better deal - he has both exedy and luk Exedy and luk dual mass are the standard replacement parts...I used the same for mine. You can upgrade to a lighter flywheel and some of the guys on here have - they reported better rev response on the plus side and a bit more gearbox noise on the minus side. Pretty sure someone on here will also comment.

Hennerz
Talked to a fair few garages and some of them say you need a flywheel and some say you dont. Does anyone have any experience on this?
coldel
Go for the flywheel, if your clutch is slipping then its already too late to save the current one - get the garage to show you the old one you should see some marks burned into it. In any case its worth changing at the same time because if the flywheel lets go in a few thousand miles you have to pay out the labour again to replace it seperately from the clutch. Tricky-Ricky
Talked to a fair few garages and some of them say you need a flywheel and some say you dont. Does anyone have any experience on this? Unless the dual mass flywheel free play is out of spec, or the friction surface has scoring you don't need to change it. Hennerz
Cheers guys, japex seemed to be the most useful mainly because they are about 15mins from where i live but also explained if there is too much movement around an inch (i think he said) then it will need to be replace.
