Dicky
Making initial enquiries about a new exhaust. A main dealer oem cat back would cost approx £823 inc vat (not fitted) and a Powerflow st st about £550 fitted. Anyone had a standard powerflow system fitted and can give me some feed back (noise level, quality of work etc) and has anyone from Geordie land had one fitted at Tyre Spot (Im looking at the Scotswood Road branch). Can you recommend them or another branch.
L4V15
I've made the mistake of having Powerflow systems fitted on 2 occasions now. The second time I was convinced that it would be just how I wanted it. Both times they were stupidly loud, and I mean stupidly loud, after explaining that I wanted it near enough standard sounding but with a very slight sports tone. Also they seem the rattle loads as well. No idea why this is. They tell you it's T304 stainless steel but it seems to be a very poor quality of stainless steel. If you want to go for a custom system then I can highly recommend Longlife exhausts. You should be able to find a dealer near you. They seems to be pretty clued up on whats best for the car and can generally get it sounding exactly how you want. Very good quality as well, comes with a genuine million mile warrenty. Thats going by the Plymouth one anyway. I used them for my last car. They quoted me £500 for the 350z catback. For my 350z I've just bought a K2 system and Ypipe. Got it very cheap off ebay as it wasn't advertised as a Japspeed. Looking at the exhaust I can see that it's really decent quality. Id recommend it to anybody over anything else for quality/value for money. This is the seller I bought from. Good customer service as well. http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/2fast2cool2/? ... 4340.l2559 Thats the sellers shop. Seems to have put the price up a bit since before xmas but may do an auction again soon. Might even be worth emailing him asking if they'll take £190 for the Ypipe back and then £120 for the Y pipe or something. I think thats what I paid roughly. Hope this helps. Lexx
Dicky mate - as a Newcastle local I can assure you that the only place you want to be taking your car is AAS-Exhausts. The quality of their work is second to none, and they work on many exotics and specialist cars. IIRC you would be paying around £700-800 (including Y-pipe i think). Stuart is a great bloke and will work with you to get exactly what you want from the exhaust.

Well Lexx young man went down to AAS as you suggested and your right Stuart is a fine and knowledgeable guy who has carried out far more complex work, so the old Z is well within his capabilities . He said he could tune it to be as loud or quite as I wanted and would carry out corrective actions should I not be satisfied with the end result. He hand makes the complete system even the back box (Powerflow use an off the shelf box) and will design it to suit your requirements. I will definitely use them when my exhaust gets near its end, which shouldn’t be to long now as its been on nearly 8 yrs now. In fact I may even get it done early. He quoted £500 for Y pipe, centre section and back box, cant be bad Ah, and another good point is, his workshop’s just at the bottom of my estate

I’d expect him to say that but he did seem to know what he was talking about.
