New head unit but no volume SORTED!

Hi all

Sorry if this has been asked before, but I cant find an answer.

Santa bought me a new Pioneer DEH-7300BT.

So, swapping it out for the Bose system. I have an 05 without steering wheel controls.

I have installed the double DIN facia unit and have bought the wiring loom.

However, I cant get any volume.

Can anyone spot an issue here?

The three blocks coming from the original wiring

This is the wiring loom I have connected to the Head Unit.

There are three white blocks on the existing wiring for the Bose system, but the looms only have two.

What is the third one for or have I got the wrong loom?

Thanks

Ian

Have a look at this thread - http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=19787

It is a great write up and will answer just about any question you have, the OP asks the same question as you in about the 5/6 post ;)

Did see that one, but afraid to say that is far beyond my capabilities, being colour blind!

May have to phone a friend.

Was hoping this was just a plug and play!

Does the unit fire up?

Possibly the remote amp connection... The HU needs to send a signal to the bose amp to wake it up

There are some really good wiring guides on here to follow....

Yes fires up, just no sound

Looks to me as though you've bought the wrong adapter loom. You've got a non Bose loom when you should have got one to fit a Bose Loom this would have come with Phono leads (red, yellow, black and white connectors) which connect to the Bose amp phono leads which supplies the sound to the speakers.

This is the adapter you need to wire up a bose setup

Red & White RCAs are front L&R Black & Yellow are rear L&R

Follow the link I posted and you will have no problems I promise, only thing that is HU specific is the steeting wheel adapter, the small cable that plugs into the loom and has a 3.5mm plug the other end, some units have slightly different connections on the rear some wires are integrated into the loom some not but if you do everything logically then you will be fine

If not bite the bullet and get someone to do it for you, should only be about £60-£70 to fit a unit if you have all the cables etc, I know its nice to do it yourself but really not worth all the pain sonetimes

Ok mate will have to do this

The loom I have was sold as the right one, but must be wrong.

Rang Sextons but they are closed for the week I think, so will have to be patient!

Cheers

Thats a bummer, yeah if you have the Bose and the adapter doesn't look like that you are stuffed unfortunately.... :surrender:
