BulletMagnet
Got my Zed booked in at Halfords Autocentre for new coolant, brake fluid, fuel system clean tomorrow, also front pads and signed up for their Brakes4life plan, which should come in handy, never having to pay for brake pads ever again ! My spidey sense went crazy at reading this! Is it Halfords as in the nationwide chain Halfords? Do you really trust them with something as vital as your brakes? Ebized
Welcome to the forum Cheers buster, you've just reminded me of another question i need to ask! Do you know of any independent Nissan specialists in Hampshire ?? TGM in Fleet and just off the M3 - a lot us in the SE use them. Although they built their reputation with racing Hondas they now know the ZEDs very well - quality work at decent prices http://www.tgmsport.co.uk/ ask for Tom and say you are from this forum
Mctwist
Thanks for the recommendations guys Got my Zed booked in at Halfords Autocentre for new coolant, brake fluid, fuel system clean tomorrow, also front pads and signed up for their Brakes4life plan, which should come in handy, never having to pay for brake pads ever again ! My spidey sense went crazy at reading this! Is it Halfords as in the nationwide chain Halfords? Do you really trust them with something as vital as your brakes? Annoyingly your spidey sense could be right. Driving home after they did the front pads and under acceleration and deceleration i'm hearing a grinding noise, offside front area. I'm pleading with myself that a wheel bearing hasn't gone because it started doing it as soon as i drive about 100 yards from the garage, so i'm thinking pads or an aux drive belt rubbing something (they did inspections also). Im going to post a technical thread so you can all laugh at me lol.

Mctwist
Hey, Apologies for bumping an old thread. But i promised i'd put pics up and intend on keeping my promise. She's not one of the most gorgeous Zed's out there, but to me she's everything, beautiful. ^^ Love that 'dome' rear end look. I know some people don't, but the look is improved with the PHAT fujitsubo exhaust that unfortunately can't be seen here. One of the first 5000 fairladys ever made. My future plans are: Get a clutch type LSD in there, i fear this may be difficult as i'm pretty sure its got an open. What do people reckon? New brakes all round: Im possibly thinking about plain discs (for stealth purposes) with Cosworth Streetmasters on the front and EBC yellowstuff on the back. Any recommendations? Fluids and plugs: Gearbox oil (OE), Redline oil, not sure if it should be a 30 or 40 weight since its been mapped? And Denso plugs.
