theheff Posted November 26, 2011 Posted November 26, 2011 This happened today and happened for a very short time during an 80 mile journey. I was driving at speed and all of a sudden heard a noise, i initially thought it was the car in front and it sounded like the exhaust had fallen off. Then realised it was coming from my car, all dials and gauges showed normal. The rev counterwas behaving normally and the car still accelerating and pulling. Sounded like it could have been something caught in the arch. Then the sound went and didnt come back. Any ideas what this could have been? Quote
rtbiscuit Posted November 26, 2011 Posted November 26, 2011 without hearing the noise its difficult to diagnose. could just have been the tyre picking something loose up off the road that then cought in your wheel arch temporarily. have a quick check over, if you can't see anything leave it for now and wait and see if it comes back. spursmaddave Posted November 27, 2011 Posted November 27, 2011 Sounds like you picked up a big stone and it got thrown around the wheel arch Because you are quite literallly sitting on top of the rear wheels its soinds scary, first time it happened to me i thought one of the wheels was going to fall off Quote
