sukh13
Hi all Whats a throttle controller for? I just don't get it?
DoogyRev
It changes the throttle response according to the setting..... SP7 = just dab the throttle and it goes mental ECO 5 = Push pedal to the floor and its as though your driving a Beetle = Gutless
Michael robinson
It increase's or decrease's the signal voltage to the throttle body there for you can change the reaction time of the throttle , well that's what av picked up any way
brillomaster
...and the standard zed has limited signal voltage in the first 3 gears? hence the need for a throttle controller or an uprev to make the zed more responsive in the first three gears? Rob22
Throttle controller won't change your cars potential performance in any gear, it could be matched by simply putting your foot down a bit harder surely? It just modulates the input from your pedal up or down, it doesnt actually change anything else. At least thats my understanding.
theheff
Fitted mine today. Easy enough to do but quite fiddly.all is working so far but i havent driven it yet. I will let all know how i get on when i play. The wire sleeve on the display unit isnt the best fit, theres a gap between sleeve and unit of less than half mill. but a minor thing really. £120 delivered by epracing on ebay. Ordered on 14th, arrived 16th.

theheff
been out in the car tonight and had a play. the car feels a lot more responsive in the sp mode really does seem to move off quicker, takes a bit to get used to it, and a lot more sluggish in eco mode swell, as it is supposed to. so far so good. coldel
Its odd isnt it, in theory it cannot make the car accelerate quicker, but it certainly feels like it! This is a scan from the instructions which kind of helps understand it...

sukh13
How much fuel does it save in eco mode? Surely you could get the same reaction by controlling your right foot?
coldel
It has a % measurement on the display, even when pulling away and you touch the throttle in normal mode it registers 25% or something, simply because some peoples leaden foot just doesnt have the control to touch and adjust by mm's. I used eco mode for a few days when driving to Brugges and it certainly made a difference.
sukh13
Any comparison in MPG? I personally would have thought a smoother driving style with less need to brake and accelerate would have a better effect? Keen to hear people's experiences!
