fosk
I'm moving back to England soon and I'm getting insurance quotes in, I got my Z in June or July 2010 but while I've been away my brothers had the car, I put it in his name to save on insurance effectively, so do I put the purchase date as when I get it back? Or when I bought it?
SteveRS
Date purchased should be when it was registered to you in the log book, so if your changing the car back into your name put the date you switch it back as the date purchased. Zugara
If its in your bro's name, why don't you just become a named driver on his insurance? If you change the names, you would show another owner on the log book? Or have i read your post wrong? I would put down the date you bought the car, but its not in your name tho! fosk
Well, if I keep it, I'll be transferring it back to me, plus he doesn't live near me etc, I'll be up north and he'll be in London and not using it! But yeah, I thought it would be the date of putting it back in my name, thanks for confirming that people!
