heat might not be too much of a problem for me as i dont have the normal large back box/silencer setup which most oem or aftermarket systems have. The system i have, hks super sound master, is a bit of a strange design. I guess i will have to take the wheel out, go for a drive and see.

I also have some inch thick dense foam im using for sound insulation which would also help. you have me thinking now on to make that area useable, if that spare wheel attachment point could be removed then it would be simple to bond the foam in, then carpet the area.Hmmmm possibilities.......

Problem is I wouldn't use the spare wheel area for everyday use, the heat from the exhaust cooks the contents of the spare wheel area.

No problem - just put gold plating in like Mclaren do - job done

(just the new 25 year mortgage to pay off for it)

Luckily I'm on Jury service and have been so for now 7 weeks. The first two weeks were really odd as I've been using the train to get into town, so she was only used at the weekend in this time. I have to say though it does feel weird that she's not parked on my driveway

Still another 5 weeks of jury service to go, ho hum!

Ian, I might have gotten to the bottom of B17 colour matching dilemma. Many paint places have B17 listed as a base coat (your standard primer->base coat->lacquer scenario). The specialist we now use for our paints configures B17 as a three stage paint. Meaning there's a pearl coat after the base coat! This changes everything. I'll keep you posted on the progress matey ;)
