nicked
Hi all, Just hoping someone might be able to shorten my process of elimination with an issue that i've had for the last week. Started with me noticing the Voltage dial looking a little higher than normal followed by a few days later the battery light come on and stayed on while using the car on and off for two days (during this time the car drove and started fine). Went to get the battery checked out and on starting the car up for the trip the battery light had gone off but the voltage dial still reading a little high. Had the car looked at & it was reading a few extra volt's high 14's / low 15's, and after driving the car the voltage dial creeps down to normal once fully warmed and had a few miles under its belt. All this time the car has started and drove fine. Thinking its the regulator on the alternator or the battery is just starting to give up and the alternator is putting out more due to this? Anyone help before I start changing parts. 350Z on a 53 plate (UK) Thanks Nick

glrnet
If alternator voltage output rises to or above 15v it can indeed be caused by a faulty voltage regulator.
