Andy
Over the last week or so I have been stripping the back of the car out ready for my install to go in but while dynamatting the bootlid I found something and I am not sure what it is!!! If you take the plastic inner casing off which sits on the inner side of the bootlid and hides the wiper mechanism, right in the middle in a slight recess there is a black rectangular box, quite heavy but with no wires attached to it that unbolts along with its outer housing by 4 socket bolts!! What the hell is it as I am a bit reluctant to take it out for the time being but I could do with losing it to loose the extra weight in the bootlid and so that I can dynamat the area behind!! The only thing I can work out that it is, is simply a weight to make sure the boot has enough weight to close properly.....can anyone help me at all!!!! Cheers, Andy

Andy
Just been outside and thrown the bugger in the bin and the bootlid stays up on its own now (so long as no gusts of wind catch it!!!) Onwards and upwards!!

burgershot
Oh Goody - something to make my boot actually go 'up' without me having to 'benchpress' it each and every time. Must go downstairs right now and have a look !
