Ztevie
Hi I am very new to the forum and thought i would make a post I am planning a trip to the Nurburgring and Spa over the weekend of the 11th November. I currently have a 2005 (55) 350Z Roadster - only modification made is a full stainless exhaust from cat back. I am taking car up to Alex (ZMAN) in Perth tomorrow to get car serviced and mot'd. Can anyone suggest any improvements that i could do to car prior to heading for europe? I look forward to your suggestions Cheers Steven
trackpig
Are you driving the car on track? Have you done any trackdays before? What kind of tyres are on the car at the moment? Is there plenty life left in the discs and pads?
DoogyRev
I am sure Alex will point you in the right direction when it comes to taking your car on the track
MK-Ultra
Hi and welcome All depends on how much money you've got to spend? As just stated a good set of tyres will do wonders and good brakes. Also if your going up to see Alex i'm sure he has some Eibach Sway bars in stock, from what i've heard they're one of the best handling mods you can do too your car. Vik54
Well you're obviously going to get some decent advice tomorrow Personally I went for brake up-grades first when I started tracking

Ekona
Tyres certainly. Not sure about Spa as I've never driven it but the 'Ring is very easy on brakes so a very good set of tyres will give you the best results.

Is there plenty life left in the discs and pads? Yes, I plan to drive car on ring and spa circuit. I have previously done the ring on two occasions with my previous car (mk3 mr2). I have not done any trackdays with the Z but actually have a mk3 escort rs turbo which I have done several track days this year in. (doing cadwell park this sat) Current tyres on the Z are maxxis with good tread, never changed tyres since I got the car last year. Not 100% about disc/pad life however I'm sure Alex will keep me right. Cheers Steven
lukeaJones
I'm leaving on this same trip on Thursday! A set of decent tyres and you should be good

I use ebc bluestuff along with cooling ducts for track work. You may wish to go down the modding route with the Z but if you have a escort RST for track work, I would keep the Z mods to a minimum as its quite good as it is for the ring and euro driving. Most importantly- have fun out there!
Ztevie
Cheers for your honest opinion guys, dropped car off with Alex tonight so will get his verdict tomorrow. Reckon I'll keep the mods to a minimum and just enjoy the car. Just booked blyton park circuit for this Sunday and doing cadwell park on the Saturday :-) Busy weekend for me. I'll post up what I'm going to do with car. Cheers Steven
