Guest prescience
The rear parking sensors are a dealer fit option (although there are aftermarket alternatives) and can be fitted at any time (i.e. unlike Rays alloys, they does not have to be specified and fitted when ordering the car). In terms of performance specification, the RPS20 Rear Park Sensor Manual quotes: An obstacle is detected from a distance of 150cm between the obstacle and the rear bumper. If this distance is reduced the repeat frequency of the warning tone will increase. The tone will become faster and faster until it becomes a continuous tone when the distance is less than 30cm and goes on to say The system can only be restarted properly after rectifying an error, by an authorised Nissan dealer Evidence suggests that the performance does though vary from car to car; in particular the '30cm' specification the solid-tone distance ranges between 15-50cm. So if the performance is not as stated, and not to your satisfaction, you should return to the dealer for adjustment.
