yankeesiter
On two occasions my clutch pedal has become really "loose" between the full out position and where it begins to take up on the pressure plate. 99% of the time it's firm down to the floor. The couple of times when it did become loose were when it was a hot day and the engine compartment would have been particulary hot. I was thinking the fluid might be vaporising. But my local independent suggested it could be seals on the master or slave cylinders and to check the colour of the fluid which I did. It's sort of light brown. Any ideas? And if it's seals, are there kits available to rebuild them?
Southernspeed
Fluid should be clear-ish really, the darker it is, the more contaminated it is which is more likely to fail. Try fresh fluid before spending money IMO.
ZMANALEX
This is a common fault, and depending on the year of your car then fresh upgraded fluid and a slave cyl and braided line should fix your issue. This is not an expensive fix if your car is a VQ35DE and takes max. of 1 hour to complete the job. All parts in stock and available for immediate shipping Alex.
