Ekona
I've been contacted by one of Ian's friends, Lex, who has asked me to let everyone know that there's going to be a meet in memory of Ian who passed away last year. I'm sure she won't mind me posting up the PM I received from her as it says it better than I ever could. Hi there. My name is Lex and I was a close friend of Ian Lewkowicz who I believe was a member of your site before his untimely accident. I am contacting you as you were the person who posted up about his incident in the first place and I aren't really sure who else to get in touch with so I hope you don't mind. I am also the co owner of another club, local to Ian that he used to spend a lot of time with and do a lot of shows with called Midlands Car Club. You may already of previously known this. Basically my reason for the message is to let your club know that we are planning to hold a memorial meet for him for his 1 year anniversary. So on the evening of Sunday 25th September we are meeting to remember him and his short but amazing life. Anyone is welcome to come and join us, whether they were luck enough to know him or not. We will also have a donations bucket there for anyone who wants to contribute any funds for Ian's family so they can finish an old project that Ian started and has now not been able to finish. I appreciate that we may be some miles away from some of you as we, like Ian, are based in Stoke-on-Trent. The meeting place is Carphone Warehouse, Tunstall, Stoke-on-Trent, ST6 6AT and will start at about 8pm. It will go on until whatever time which in some of your cases may be after an hour or so as i appreciate they will have a long drive home. We would be grateful if you would please post this up in the relevant topic on your forum to make your members aware of the meet, even if no one can make it. Thank you very much for your time, Lex It would be great if some of our more local members could pop along to this and show the support of the club to Ian's friends and family.
