lukekbrown
In the manual it states to only use Coolant from the Dealer as the engine can be damaged using other coolant, is this right? Also am I okay to just top my coolant up? Or do I have to drain the system and refill? I also need to top my oil up, am I right in thinking 5W30 fully synthetic is the right oil? Does anyone recommend a specific brand? i.e. Castrol etc Again, can I just top up instead of doing a complete oil change? Thanks
lukekbrown
Sorry if the questions are a bit stupid, I am just very fussy as to the liquids that I put in my car and that I'm carrying the task out correctly. Thanks
Lexx
So long as you put in L250 (if you can get hold of it) you'll be fine. I think Nissan now supply L248 which is premixed. Topping up will be fine. Yes, you can just top up oil (unless its service time obviously - which is full change and filter too). Opie Oils (trader on here) will supply no bother. I used to swear by Fuchs or Royal Purple. But each to their own.
coldel
I suddenly noticed whilst down on the coast that I had no coolant in my reservoir! I just grabbed the first one I could find in the garage and dropped a bit in with water to top it up a bit. Doing a service in a couple of weeks so will properly run it through then. Will probably order from Opie Oils as well, some good deals on there at the moment.
