DUKE
Hi I intend to make my own Plenum spacer (just a one off for my '03' Z), after a lot of research I have decided to use 8mm NYLON 6...... Any thoughts or recomendations on other materials ? Thanks in advance
Neilp
Why go through all the hassle? They're pretty cheap to buy. Many people have tried and given up. It has to withstand alot of heat and keep a complete air tight seal.
Tricky-Ricky
I agree, however there is one way that i think would work, get yourself a spare plenum top, find a friendly engineering shop and ask them to mill the top of to the right hight
flyboy
My laser cut aluminium one worked fine viewtopic.php?f=25&t=44039
DUKE
I have the Nylon6 and it can take a lot more punishment than the plenum can dish out. It cuts nicely with a jigsaw but was wondering if I could get the DXF file as I could get it machined at work, we have the machines but no scanner and would take far too long to program. I have a spare upper plenum which I am spraying in a light gunmetal and will be a straight swap job so the car isn't out of comission whilst waiting for the paint to dry. flyboy
Hi There, I now have plans to cut these and sell a spacer kit, as the velocity stack project with RTCustomz was such a sucess. Therefore the dxf is no longer up for distibution. Good luck with your project.
