Michael robinson
Hello everyone, My problem is that I have my engine on the bench in a garage and I don't no weather to rebuild stockish or build performance ?? I have to strip it for investigation works to find why it's badly smoking any way so am thinking while it's out why not change a few things . I already have - ams light weight pullys - cosworth intake manifold - k&n induction kit - berk hfc's , stillen y pipe , K1 exhaust What would be worth changing and would give me good gains for my money ? Am thinking along the lines of cam's ect ?? Also what brand would be best ? Sorry about the list of questions just am new to the engine upgrade (rebuild) scene and want the best I can get
Lexx
Depends if you have any future plans to go FI. If you do, whilst it's stripped you could replace with forged internals? Have a natter with Abbey Performance
introspect
If the engine's already out then headers would be a good choice. Could even go for forged rods and pistons as well as cams. All depends on your budget I suppose. If you're going for performance then I would ditch the induction kit and go back to a stock air box though. Abbey Motorsport are the guys to speak to about this as they will have the knowledge to advise what's best for your goals and budget
Michael robinson
Cheers al give Abby a shout It's in for suspect bore washing so may have to replace pistons and the heads anyway , would I go for the likes of cosworth branding or is there cheaper alternatives that do the same ( ie am I just paying for the name ?) Thanks again
Wasso
Brian Crower is another brand of forged bits and pieces, see Adam @ Z1 Auto trader on here but in America.
introspect
I don't think there's any particular reason to go for Cosworth parts. From looking on my350z.com Wiseco Pistons and Eagle Rods seem to be a popular combo, but again, Abbey Motorsport will be able to advise what components will best suit your needs.
