DaddyCee
Hi All. What is the best way to keep a 350Z convertible roof in tip top condition and what are the recommended products to use please? Thanks, DC.
SteveM
i used and use AUTOGLYM SOFT TOP CAR HOOD/ROOF CLEANER PROTECTOR KIT and it made a huge difference to the hood. looks much better / cleaner and the water just beads off it now. word of warning... make sure you have plenty of dust sheets or covers to protect the paintwork while applying this stuff. take your time and the results are really good
martinmac
I use the same and have comments from pro detailers on how good it is. Tesco sell it pretty cheap.
rabbitstew
I bought the same kit from halfords the other weekend, they had a 3 items for 2 offer on the car cleaning products. Havent tried it out yet, so cant comment on how good it is. Will give it a go at the w/end.
SteveM
get a few sheets handy.... start the car and part open the roof so that the front and back are away from the car then tuck the sheets under and put the roof back down into place (front first obviously due to the way the back lifts) cover all the paintwork and windows. the rear window will obviously not be able to be covered but getting all the treatment stuff off the back window only isnt a deal breaker scrub the first part of the treatment on then remove the sheets and wash the roof down... wait for it to dry and then redo the sheets. really do them well so as to cover the car paint and windows. difference is amazing
DaddyCee
if you do get any product on the paintwork or windows is it difficult to remove or worse still can it damage the paint / glass?
martinmac
I usually do it as part of of general wash and make sre the paintwork is wet. The spray is pretty fine and IMO easy to direct.
