skidder
Hi All, Advice needed please. 54 plate GT.79k I have an issue that has just popped up yesterday. Took the car out last night and for the first 5 miles or so everytime I changed from 6th into 5th I hear a nasty crunch. Its as though the clutch isn't depressed properly. After 5 miles or so this problem is non-existent. Took the car out this morning and exactly the same thing. Is this the synchros on the way out? If it is I guess this means new box, clutch and flywheel? If so this ain't gonna be cheap!! Advice appreciated as its driving me round the bend! Chris
marzman
Happens to pretty much all zeds mate - do a search, been discussed many times. It's only whilst the gearbo is cold, so if you can avoid those gears whilst its warming up you'll be fine. Alternatively, if you go from fourth into neutral, release the clutch and then press it again and go from neutral to fifth, that should stop the crunch too (i.e. double press the clutch..) Chris viewtopic.php?f=157&t=43465&hilit=molyslip A fluid change (using the proper stuff) and some Moly will not go amiss All in stock and good to go same/next day Alex.
