lorryman100
Looking for information from anybody who has recently purchased a Consult 4 unit? Had a look on Google and the prices seem to range from £450 - £1k for essentially the same systems? I have diagnostic gear for my landrover and have stayed away from grey China copies as there has been instances of them actually doing more damage to the ecu than good. Also there is no software updates available as you are barred from the update servers if you have a counterfeit machine. An example is the IDS/VCM machine I purchased last year from this company http://www.motorcraftservice.com/vdirs/ ... eitvcm.asp as I nearly bought the same system for £500 from a OBDII website that is based in China before stumbling upon the whole counterfeit, no support issues of counterfeit machines. Does anyone know if the Consult system uses server or CD updates? Would it be better to buy from a UK company (pricey)? Or are all the units made in China now anyway and I'm worrying about nothing and should buy the cheapest system I can find? Cheers
Chris`I
Thought Consult 3 was the most recent incarnation? I know Abbey havent had Consult 3 very long and it does GTR's and 370z's IIRC. Consult 2 will do a 350z IIRC
lorryman100
Thought Consult 3 was the most recent incarnation? I thought so too until I found a mention of it on the OBDII forum I'm a member off. This company stocks them http://www.autoobd2.co.uk/wholesale/nis ... 4QodmXuvVQ and as I will be getting a 370 next year I think it would be good to have a future proof model that covers all nissan models. Edit: This is the original system I was looking at: http://www.cardiag.co.uk/professional-n ... ol-42.html As I am new to nissan ownership advice on which system to go for is my main concern, mainly so I don't end up buying the wrong machine. Chris`I
Only people I know that have it on here that use it regularly are Abbey M/S, they'd be a good place to start
bronzee
Kiwi company, they're also part of the Z community in NZ, both running some very nice Z32's. They have a forum for on going questions. If you decide to get one, say that Bronzee sent you. http://www.blazt.biz
