EH 370z
NISSAN certainly put on a big show at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed with an impressive display stand, special demonstrations and the taking home of a new record. A wind tunnel-themed display formed Nissan’s stand for the Festival, which included a special display of the ESFLOW concept car, an electric sports car for the future. The LEAF was also on show at the stand giving some show-goers their first glimpse of the ground-breaking electric hatchback. The LEAF was also joined by the award-winning British-built Qashqai, the 370Z GT Edition, the new GT-R and a Juke with a special sound-system. On the hill-climb, the new GT-R and 370Z GT Edition took part in the renowned supercar run – an event which has become the place to see the newest supercar machinery. Meanwhile, celebrating the second win in succession of the RAC tourist trophy at Silverstone in the FIA GT1 championship this year, the 600bhp Sumo Power GT team’s GT1 GT-R took to the hill – often in a cloud of tyre smoke. However, the extra special demonstrations runs were reserved for the LEAF RC and a Juke doing a very unusual stunt. While the LEAF RC took to the hill in near-silence, the Juke, driven by stunt-driver Terry Grant, went up the legendary West Sussex hill-climb on two wheels. With encouragement from the crowds, Grant took the record for the fastest four-wheeled car to go up the hill on two wheels.
