chrisgunton
Found out today: Turn the ignition on/off 3 times and then lock car as normal with the remote. The car will lock but without the alarm on. It'll even beep to let you know!

Wasso
Maybe I was just pooping it at that speed and felt unsafe? It didn't help hitting the bumps to be fair which probably why it felt unsettled
chrisgunton
Holding both key fob buttons for 5 secs changes the unlocking mechanism to only open the drivers door and not the passengers door, as an anti hi-jacking aid. And also so you can laugh at the mrs as she stands there in the rain pulling on the door handle My fob only opens the drivers door, and then the passenger on the 2nd press. I tried what you suggest but without joy. Are you doing this when the car is locked or unlocked, and the lock/unlock button or both?
Beavis
They can crush at the same time a Hotpoint washing machine and a Zanussi dryer with only very light cosmetic damage to the zed WIN Post now updated with pics You were going forwards when you did that? Did your guide dog not bark a warning? I was not at the wheel..................long story! But here it is from October 2008 viewtopic.php?f=9&t=16924&hilit=hotpoint

LordGrover
I gather the 'Merkans have a remote boot release, on a separate button on the bipper. Is this something we can have?

st3ven1
On the trip computer, if you hold the top button for a couple of seconds it will display the time. Saves you scrolling through all the different displays to get back to the time.

And also so you can laugh at the mrs as she stands there in the rain pulling on the door handle This worked perfectly for me on both 55 and 08 Zed's. The procedure also works in reverse, if the anti-hijack is enabled pressing both the buttons will remove it. I know from previous posts that this procedure simply wont work for some owners, imports for sure but some U.K cars don't seem to want to play ball. Possibly it's an undocumented improvement and just won't work on earlier cars Pete

Stroudy
Ive not checked but are the anti-hijak instructions given here the same as in the owners manual? I did what ever the manual said to do when i first got it and it worked for me on a 2007 UK GT..

Stroudy
The rear arches being in the boot, without much lining, make every stone you catch with rear tyres sound like its going to break through the car and hit you in the head. Its not though, just sounds that way 2
