brown7758
Update on my warning lights.. ABS, ESP off, Traction control. Just picked her up from a service, they hooked the diagnostic up (my self diagnostic showed no fault) Its came up as C1142 : ABS pressure sensor circuit (ABS Lateral Acceleration Sensor Open/Shorted on Benzword.org's forum code list) and they said take it back if it returns for an investigation as they reset the code, id rather try and self fix before paying through my already tender nostrils (3.5k + since Feb ) Ive been trawling other forums (using google search) to find some info, but most threads have loads of suggestions but no final answer on what it was (unlike this forum where we tell all..) First thing to do would be check the sensors and wiring but i dont have a clue where to start, anyone any tips??
Beau
I have a similar problem at the moment, where the traction control light wont go off, and when driving slowly and turning sharply the ABS kicks in on only the front right wheel. I had a look through the 350z manual, which I downloaded from somewhere and it says one possibility could be the abs sensor. I am going to make sure the area around it is clean ect and then see if it makes a difference. If not then I'll replace it. The other possibility is the wrong tyres size. brown7758
anyone got any ideas/ tips? changed the front pads yesterday and the sensors and wiring look fine, going to do the rears soon and check them.. the lights only come on when i press the brake pedal hard (even when at a stand still) and restarting the engine removes the lights but depressing the brake pedal hard brings them back.. help

R35LEE
Hi brown7758, It Could still be a dodgey abs speed sensor. We have had ABS pumps fail in the past and also more recently the ABS / traction control module under the steering column fail on a JDM car. Think you need to get it into a decent independant specialist to have it looked at PM sent

Vik54
Thought I should update on this as I know how much hassle Will and I had finding evidence on the web as to what the code C1142 could be I think perhaps people worry about admitting they've had such issues - which is daft if you find the fix and your car is ultimatley better for it - the knowledge can only help others Turns out this can be any number of things from ABS actuator to grounding issues with the TCS - which I think Lee was saying above ^^ In my case after diagnostics were carried out fully and all grounding issues eliminated it did infact turn out to be the pump - now replaced thanks to Mr T - so pleased to have Saffy back
