mash
Hi, I have just bought a 2006 350Z convertible (UK CAR).. Nice looking car, drives well.. Only thing is it was taken to a garage for an MOt and the "mechanics" tried to jump start the car but accidentally put the positive on the negative and vice versa Now the car drives ok, but the roof is not opening anymore. The indicators, wipers and windows aren't working either! Any ideas on what part/s i need, what has to be done and rough cost? Some say the whole ECU is fried, others telling me only the Body Control Module so not sure, thought il ask the experts! Any suggestion or advice is very much appreciated. Thanks in advance

Zugara
They could have blown a module if the fuses are OK? Its gonna cost them

mash
Havnt checked any fuses yet to be honest. But today i kept trying it and after a while it Worked! well only the roof anyway, then it started pouring down with rain and it was stuck open !! after switching the car on/off few times i managed to get the roof to close (however signals, windows etc still nothing).. This does not mean the ecu is fried right? Sorry guys but i dont know much so would like to ask for more help.. Ive been told its the body control module that needs reprogramming so any specialists you can recommend in London? Thanks for all your posts so far.. teddyonholiday
Sorry I didnt get to read the post before i replied by message. The roof has its own control module as do the windows and the rest of the body the wipers and indicators are again on the main ecm and it reads the lines of interaction of a multiway sswitch so its clear the main ecu has some issues I will get to look at my paperwork tomorrow nad try to get a better answer but i would start scouring the salvage sites for a dead Z.
