Stroudy
Went down to the Goodwood Breakfast Club this morning. The theme was post 1970 sports cars and GT's so managed to get the Zed parked up on the grid area to show her off. Was joined by two other 350's scattered about the site.. The Zed definitley holds its own own in the looks department alongside much more exotic stuff Its older sister turned up to play too. You can really see the blood line the 350 shares in detail after a good look inside and out, so many little designs are just a modern version of the old one. If any of you live within an hour or so i'd highly reccomend a visit to this if you've not been before. Free entry, great breakfasts, great drive accross the South Downs to get there, hundreds of cars and a brilliant atmosphere for petrol heads. First Sunday of each month 8am till 12pm with a different theme each time.
Will370z
Really wanted to go to this today but was exhausted after the port Solent and garden of England runs yesterday. Your car looks good there, holding it's own Did you get any more pics?

HaydnH
Is it just me, or does anyone think that the old Z would look better with some less modern style alloys?

Peter10
I should really go, it's only an hour and 20 minutes from me in good traffic. I also would love to go to the Festival of Speed.

martinmac
Always pop over and say Hi to the owners, as some of the 350z owners found out at the recent Lancashire meet some of them have some serious knowledge and car history.
martinmac
From the owner. My car started out with a 2.4 standard engine and I bought a set of center-line billet alloys for it back in 2006. Drove it around for a year or so then took it off the road for a respray. Time drifted by and booking up Le man classic last year pushed me into getting it back on the road. I stuck a 2.8 engine with tripple webers in it for the trip but was never really happy with the 200hp it produced and wanted something to get me into the 12s at santa pod. I had already bought a Toyota soarer for £400 and was useing as a dailey driver so when I broke the 2.8 engine after a cam timing issue, now was the perfect time for the engine/gearbox transplant. It took about 6 days in total time(spread over 6 weeks) and I made use of as many parts from the Soarer as possible. The total cost of the conversion was around £1000 if you take off what I recovered from selling bits and scraping the soarer. The engine is standard and make 293bhp at the wheels. Other mods are quaiff, coilovers and range rover brakes. Car is a joy to drive and returned 35mpg on the trip to Spa last week.

AK350Z
Yeah, stuff the 350, i'm going retro! Apart from the fact that by the time i sell the Zed, it won't even buy a scabby 240.
bronzee
Is it just me, or does anyone think that the old Z would look better with some less modern style alloys? They look nice with aftermarkets, but some of the old stock rims, actually were pretty cool for their time. A few pics from this end of the pond, with stock 240 rims: http://zclub.org.nz/album_showpage.php?pic_id=1731 http://zclub.org.nz/album_showpage.php?pic_id=2271 Been hunting for a pic with the other stock rims, but can't find one. The red one above has a set of those shoes too. Almost like black triangle shape on the centres. Mini Lites are quite popular shoes for the old school: http://zclub.org.nz/album_showpage.php?pic_id=2288 Are those alloys on the 240 standard then? Reckon they look like after markets.. As above. No not stock.
