Thought I might use tonight to take the front bumper off my car and have a look at my leaking PAS rad. Couple of questions. 1. How hard is this to do? 2. How hard is this to do ON YOUR OWN? 3. How easy is it to put back on, ON YOUR OWN? 4. If the bumper is off, is it legal for me to drive with it off? Wasso Posted June 1, 2011 Share Posted June 1, 2011 Chesterfields Guide is the one I used. It's very straight forward. The only techincal part is accessing the press studs behind the front wheels. This will allow you access behind the wheel arch lining where the wing meets the bumper there will be two bolts. These are the trickiest bits for removal and fitting. It takes less time if there are two of you, but it's not necessary. You can drive with your bumper off, but I wouldn't say the police would look kindly towards it. cmck13 Posted June 1, 2011 Share Posted June 1, 2011 The guys have already said it all, I was in the same position last year. Some are very easy, some are a pain in the bottom, depending on how many of the 10mm screw are seized etc. I found it much easier for access to take the front wheels off otherwise any one with hands bigger than a 10 year old usually ends up with ragged bit of blooded meat hanging of them. A couple of hours on your own plus a bit extra looking for the place that a few bolts and studs that you have found left over. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
