Great photos  . Went to Monaco for the GP way back in 1975, wish I could find the photos that I took. Walked right the way around the circuit during the practise lunchbreak, I bet you can't do that now :p

I bet there wernt so many barriers back then either! There were loads of people going round the track, walking and driving. There was one bloke driving his Spyker C8 round for ages,he seemed to always be going round when he could. Fair play.

Really was an amazing experience, and i know im very lucky to be able to go there, and go there with a team like Red Bull is just the icing on the cake. Nobody elses hospitality was anywhere near as good, and about half the size! They know how to look after people.

The first night i was there,Thursday night,i went to the party at the energy station, and got home about 12.30am,totally smashed, and id been up since 3am to get ready to go out there. There were some long hours, but could have been alot worse if we had kissed the barriers or anything like that.

Those pics are beyond awesome mate, thanks for posting them.

With regards to your pictures from all round the track - is that because you worked there that you were allowed access, or would members of the public be able to do a similar amount of exploration?

I was allowed in the pitlane as i was working there chap. Being a street circuit, its pretty enclosed and tight. Alot of people were just watching it up on the hill,id imagine the view up there was mega. Its an amazing place to visit, and if you have a chance to go,dont hesitate,as you will not regret it. The noise and feel is stunning.

The number of barriers has certainly increased over the years but by 1975 was probably not far short of where we are today, as late as 1972 they still used straw bales  . Never got to drive my car around the entire circuit, just did the bit up to Casino square the day we arrived, the rest of the track was undergoing work, the barriers were being fitted so no access allowed. The track was open later on but I declined the option as I didn't want to lose my parking space, you can imagine these were like gold dust :D . Watched the race from up on the hill, just beneath the palace, even back then ticket prices for the stands on race day were eye watering. Did get to go around the paddock on the Friday evening, even got invited in Graham Hill's motorhome while he personally sorted out some Embassy Hill stickers for me :yahoo:
