Currently in the middle of the Bose hack, thanks to some lovely guides found on here (viewtopic.php?f=35&t=47176&hilit=bose+hack)

Anyways apart from not having to undo -any- of the screws as they appear to all be missing or in hiding i've come across this connector

which has a few cables that have been cut, and the the other half of the cables are here

i'm guessing they were cut when the after market unit which was fitted by the previous owner was in and my question is do these relate to the steering wheel audio controls as they've never worked since i got it.

Also what are these connectors for? they were just hanging loose

Thanks

they are defo for the steering wheel controls. i cut mine and soldered on the new ones. however i have left sufficient lenght on either end so that i can solder them back together if i want to sell the car!

try and reconnect the original cables together. although it doesnt look like there is any slack.

not sure what the other ones do tho. perhaps a mic for BT and a remote out for a sub?

oh and top tip:-

dont screw the surround to the back of the radio. screw in the radio to the car and then just slide the surround over it. that leaves only two screws at the bottom to undo if you want to get the surround off again.
