flakmunky
Hi All, I have reserved a JDM import and am going down to pay a deposit today... The car I am buying has Jap Sat Nav (which I know is expensive to change!) and a 'phone prep. There are some buttons on the s/w and a lead in the cubby where your elbow rests... I have seen Nissan BT adaptors on Fleabay and am wondering whether these will work with a JDM import? If not - why?! TIA fM

live2themaxuk
U can get a UK DVD nav drive, plug it in and it will work. BT isnt working at present but ppl are looking into it. Look in the JDM forum m8
M13KYF
Their doesn't seem to be any success with the phone adaptor on JDM Models, also very difficult to get any info from Nissan in Japan.
ir_fuel
Yeah, and they wont give it easily anyway, as long as that car has a UK equivalent which is being sold by Nissan UK
Boblet
surely the two both transmit the same information (just using different format). must be a way of making them talk to each other, need a electronic gizmo guru on the case. I had a frequency converter for my JDM skyline that worked really well, i know radio is simple but surely the principle is the same?
M13KYF
it's more to do with the wiring rather than the frequency and nobody having a wiring diagram.
Boblet
i can do wiring! you mean they have different plugs on them? please excuse my ignorance i dont own a Z yet!
M13KYF
yes, it's a different socket
flakmunky
It would be interesting if it was just the socket that is different... I am going to ask my importer if his Japanese contact can source these from Nissan Japan... Bluetooth is Bluetooth is Bluetooth, isn't it?! Will let you know if he can and also the price - maybe could get a discount? I get my Zed in 2 weeks!!!!!
