Wasso
I wouldn't say that's too bad. Check out the insurance companies listed on the forum. Example: Chris Knott, Adrian Flux, Sky Insurance.... probably more. It depends if you are going to modify the car. I have and found Adrian Flux to be the cheapest for me. mattbowey
i use admiral for the multicar policy lost my ncb after crashing my last zed last year but because my new one is a uk car and on the multicar policy my insurance for the zed is still cheaper than last year. 900 sounds good to me
Husky
admiral should be able to quote cheaper than that i'd have thought (depending on area)
scubapics
Admiral or Elephant (same company) have always been the cheapest for me even without multi-car policy. They also came up with the goods when I needed to make a claim.
Stoker11
I use Admiral and have Multi-car insurance with them, well pleased.
Ricey
Admiral - even better if you can use the multicar feature and they're not bad with mods too. Worth sticking 'insurance' into the little searchy box in the top right and searching by topic titles only - 195 matches all about insurance
Will370z
Sky have been great for me but I believe they won't insure you unless you have owned a performance car for over a year

Yes but the issue wont be with your previous vehicle experience, I will assume it was your lack of UK NCB due to living outside of the UK. rabbitstew
Ive pretty much tried every insurance company and the cheapest this time around for me was Admiral, which came in at 700quid. Thats for someone whose nearly 40, been driving for 20 years, has 18 years NCB on a car. Ive also been riding high performance motorbikes for 18 years and have about 12 years NCB on my bike. I tried all the "specialists" listed on here, but they couldnt come close. One which offered "forum discount" actually came in at 1200quid. I was quite shocked at how expensive the zed was, it came in about £200 more expensive for me to insure than a BMW M3 SMG and a Porsche Boxster. As a comparison, I pay £250 for a GT TDI Golf, £66 for my Yamaha R1 and even had a quote of £83 fully comp for a track day Renault 5 GT Turbo I have. Everyones different though, so really it pays to try the main comparison sites, and call people like adrian flux who have offered me good prices before. coldel
My Z is insured under the wifes name using Diamond insurance with me as a named driver, about £675 I think. And yes we do both use it, its the only car we have between us, in fact I have the kerbing on my old alloys to prove it.
nixy
This is one of those things where other people's quotes can't really help you as there are just too many variances to consider from person to person. I went via Chris Knott last year and was quite happy but this year my premium went up by over £200 so I did a compare the meerkat and got it back down to what it was through another intermidiary called the insurance factory - the policy is with Zenith. coldel
I would say getting a list of quotes can help when you know the person and the company they are insured with. Certain insurance companies are not interested in certain demographics and I am sure quote highly just to put them off I know when I go to Direct Line the cost of insurance on the same car is often a lot higher than say Admiral. So from a perspective of identifying most commonly the cheaper insurances with certain companies then quoting numbers is useful. But of course you can do the same on any price comparison website which does the same thing

Yes but the issue wont be with your previous vehiclee experience, I will assume it was your lack of UK NCB due to living outside of the UK. My memory may be letting me down, but I'm pretty sure that I was told at the time (almost 2 years ago) that I couldn't be quoted because "I didn't have at least a year of experience driving the Zed" The issue with NCB is very frustrating because some insurers are happy to take proof of foreign NCB and accident free driving. We'll see what you can come up with this year when my renewal is due in just over a month:)
