Wider tyres don't give you more grip

Stevie & Ming. I'm gonna have to agree with you here re the aircraft/runway thing!! I didn't read the question correctly. :blush:

I read it as if the conveyor acts against the wheels, effectively turning them backwards (and preventing the aircraft from rolling forward) and not that the conveyor acts in the opposite direction to the forward motion of the aircraft, effectively turning the wheels in the same direction as they would be turning anyway, albeit more quickly. Yeah, I agree that it would eventually get off the ground.......maybe. This is too early for this....and I've got a hangover........ :headhurt:
