My first day at the Drag strip!

Ok guys today was a great fun! Jess and I stayed over near the humber bridge! Wow I've not seen that before and its huge! lol.. Anyway we get to York raceway and have to drive don the WORST road I have ever driven down! The road to the drag strip is a total joke! Huge holes and broken rock every where, not a good entrance to a drag strip!

I got signed on for the even they had running today and got the car over to the scrunineering area, passed with no problems which was good :) I went down to the race office for my race number which was T177, T was the over 1700cc with turbo, supercharger, NOS RWD cars.

The day was mixed up with the 1st rounds of the Promod/ american muscle cars and the RWYB/0-60 challenge.

My first run on the strip ever!

No Launch and still at full tire pressure all round. Let off before the finish staying in 4th.

2nd run, small launch from about 2K rpm.

Tried going into 5th gear but alot slower, and my 60ft time was poo as hell!

4th

Dropped rear tire pressure to 25psi and stayed in 4th gear. But missed 2nd gear trying too hard! lol

5th run best of the day.

Rear tire pressure down to 22psi and 2k launch again.

Run felt good but tomuch wheel spin again killed it.

Anyway I managed to break into the 12's JUST! lol... I felt like the car had so much more in it but 1st,2nd gear just could not get power down! The drag strip had a very strond head wind which did not help ether. I raced quite a few quick cars and came out on top to my surprise, TVR tuscan S (13.3 best time) a rausch supercharged mustang GT500, and old chevet with a 350BHP cosworth YB motor, Skyline R33 GTS-t, Nissan 200sx etc.

I was really pleased to find out I placed 3rd in class T and would have been 1st/2nd in all other catergories apart from the 4wd class which was won by lateral performance's time attack car! WELL CHUFFED!!

Im sure with out the head wind more practice I could get my 60ft times down to 2.1-2.0 second range which would really help my ET's.

Anyway check out the video! I have some from the outside from jess's phone but ill up load them later!

:#3: :#3: :#3: LOL>...

I used to have the same trouble with my TT Supra, I would get 17.4 PSI on a nice cool misty morning but would drop to 13 - 14 psi on a summer afternoon. I could crank it back up with the boost controller, but then it just produced alot of heat and the EGT's got scary.

Good luck with it, 16 - 17 psi sound fun! :drive1
