Scootg
Hi guys, Ok, this is going to sound reeeaaally noob like, but I have to ask. I'm looking at a new clutch for the Z, and the guys at Helix have said they have one, as long as I have the VQ35DE Engine.. Uh. This means nothing to me. Obviously I know the size and pistons, etc, but engine codes.. Not so much. It's a '57 plate, face-lifted GT Spec.. If it helps.. Many thanks, Scott. Beavis
You should have the VQ35HR which as the bonnet bulge But anyhow he will sort you out.
James B
Surely the clutch would be the same for those engines?
Wasso
If it's the 57 with a bonnet buldge you have the HR, if you don't have the buldge you are a late registered DE (Revup)
Beavis
Surely the clutch would be the same for those engines? Quite possibly

Scootg
Ah.. Well, I do have said bonnet buldge, so I guess it'll be the HR. Not sure what difference it will make to the clutch.. But I'd hate to get the wrong thing.. They're the experts I guess! Many thanks for your help guys, Sorry for the nooby question..
rabbitstew
Definately the HR then. Out of interest how many miles has it done if it needs a new clutch?!
ZMANALEX
I would not be influenced by the bonnet type as there are many early model Zeds running around with the bulge bonnets. If you motor has the twin air intakes then it is an HR and the DE clutch kit will not fit. Also the clutch bearing on the HR is a concentric slave type set up, so the bearings are different as well. Helix do not do an oem replacement clutch for any of the Zeds as they only supply uprated clutches. I stock oem replacement clutch kits for the DE and the HR and all good to go same/next day. Drop me a pm if I can help you further. Alex.
Scootg
Definately the HR then. Out of interest how many miles has it done if it needs a new clutch?! I'm on 34,000, but bought it with 28,000 on the clock. I don't think it needs a new one YET. But I'm told it will soon, it's just the bearing that's noisy. Sounds like it's grinding all the time it's in idle. Thanks Alex, I'll bare it in mind. Scott.
Lexx
That doesnt sound like an issue really. The HR is well known to be "chatty". A feature of the car
