djrm Posted April 18, 2011 Share Posted April 18, 2011 Hi everyone! I posted up a while back about my exhaust suddenly becoming let's say "loud". Turned out it was the common problem where just before the rear backbox, the join had broken completely off! There was nothing connecting the exhaust to the backbox anymore! Anyway, while I decide what to do, IE get an aftermarket exhaust or just have a stainless one made, I decided to shut the car up by trying to repair it myself, and I think I did a pretty good job as it's SO QUIET now! PICS OF MY "HANDYWORK"..... (Feel free to laugh) Up on the ramp... The offending break... This was tricky... After 20 mins and a hacksaw... The repair kit... Phase 1... Phase 2... Wish I could have got my hands on a welding kit so I wouldn't have had to bother with the silly heat tape but it seems to be holding quite well after an hour drive earlier so fingers crossed!
