andyoleary
Hi all, Anyone got one for sale, preferably in the Kent area? (Or Surrey on a Weds). My '04 UK GT spec Z has got a lot of corrosion at the rear end that has caused the emissions to fail a recent MOT. Been quoted £330 for replacement, including fitting, by the MOT garage but don't know what type they have sourced - just a standard replacement I guess. Anyway, thanks in advance, any advice appreciated, Andy

andyoleary
Well, noise isn't particularly an issue as it's primarily to get the MOT sorted for it as I'm selling it.
ATTAK Z
why don't you get it welded if you just want a quick repair ?
andyoleary
Not sure if I can, I think the corrosion is pretty bad but I'll get a 2nd opinion on it anyway, thanks for the suggestion. Just curious about availability/costs for replacement from here at the moment to be honest

andyoleary
Hi Greeny, Hmm, cheshire's a bit far to travel, would it be prohibitive to post?

rtbiscuit
exhaust gum gum, strap it up good and proper, go straight to the MOT station, get tested, and then not worry. or use replacement. depends on how much your willing to spend to get it to sale condition. Husky
Gum would last a short while and it is pretty visible, I had it on mine for a while before i changed it. due to the way that corner flexes, it cracks it right back open.
andyoleary
Hi all, Ok, got a silencer (thanks Paul) but it seems that the centre section needs replacing too (doh) as it's too corroded where it joins the silencer box. Anyone in Kent or Surrey got a standard centre section I can possibly pick up tomorrow early (before 8am) or late (after 4pm)? Or that I can meet somewhere around Fleet direction during the day perhaps? Cheers muchly, Andy 07775427243
