zacieclay69
Hi all, I've got a knocking noise coming from the front end when going over uneven road surfaces up to 40 miles an hour The drop links and bushes have been changed with no improvement so I wanted to check how best to proceed. My cousin works for Nissan (primarily on GTR's admitidly) but he couldn't find the problem. From looking at past posts it sounds like the next thing to check would be the ball joints in the compression arms as they may be worn - is that correct? Many thanks, Zac
martinmac
Hi Zac, this may sound a bit random but put clunk into the search engine and have a look through the results. This should give you a good idea of what it may be. Welcome to the forum btw.
ZMANALEX
Hi Zac and to the forum. The Zed is notorious for suspension knocks and it could be one of many issues. The most common knock comes from failure of the Compression arm bush. The Compression arm ball joint and cone seat are also regular failures. The lower ball joint on the hub carrier is also known to fail. There are other possibilities however a careful examination should trace the fault. What ever is giving you the knock, I will have the parts in stock to provide the fix including the lower ball joint on the hub carrier Here is a taster: viewtopic.php?f=157&t=43455 viewtopic.php?f=157&t=43456 viewtopic.php?f=157&t=43458 Just drop me a pm if I can help you further Alex.
