The scheme covers most modifications (excluding nitrous, roll cages and bhp increases of more than 100 over stock). We can help with all the cars in your household. For most cars drivers must be aged over 19. For 350Z/370Z models it's currently 28 with 12 months' experience. All drivers must have held a licence for at least 1 year and have at least 1 year's NCB.

Thanks so much for your custom in 2014, especially in response to the Chris Knott Prize Draws at the tale end of the year. I'm pleased to announce that December's winner was Mrs D Woodfin from Bolton. She bagged herself a £100 Amazon Voucher and all she did was ask us for a quote.

They say that if you wait long enough everything comes back into fashion. That's certainly what's happened with 0800 freephone numbers as, since 1st July, 0800 calls are now FREE on all mobiles as well as landlines.

UPDATE: a note about competitiveness

 

Looking at the YTD figures Chris Knott Insurance has won 38% of all new quotes offered during 2015. That's really good and means we're frequently beating the best rate that members can find anywhere else.

 

And, if you thought that was just a ploy to attract new clients and then hike the rates in year 2, you'd be wrong - we keep 82% of policies at renewal. This is because we try to offer consistent pricing (as long as there have been no claims or other changes during the year). I've just insured with Chris Knott and mentioned I was from the 350z forum so hopefully that was recorded. They were able to beat my previous best quote from Greenlight by £30 so I took them up on it and so far so good, I even got a callback when requested too :thumbs:

Never had this many issues with an insurance provider. Chris Knott have cancelled my policy because of their own stupid mistake. And what I tiny little stupid mistake it was.

 

They sent me a direct debit mandate with post-it notes saying where each person needs to sign as we have a joint account. The post-it notes where in the wrong place but I didn't know this at the time. So I sent it back exactly how they had asked me to do so still with the post-it notes attached. I then receive a call saying is been signed in the wrong place and they're going to send me out another one.

 

I then receive a letter on the 30th December telling me they are cancelling my policy on that very same day because they haven't recieved the correctly filled out DD mandate. The Letter was dated the 23rd December and I received it on the 30th, they gave me 7 days to fix it. I also received the new mandate after the cancellation letter. Is this my fault??? ABSOLUTELY NOT. NOW I HAVE TO PAY A HIGHER PREMIUM AND GO THROUGH THIS RUBBISH AGAIN TO START A NEW POLICY.

 

All because a member of admin put a post-it note on the wrong part of the form.

 

To say I'm peed off would be an understatement!!!!!!

 

Best part was that I even called them on the 30th December to which I was told by their automated service that they are closed until the 4th January (today). So today they tell me they were open and its my fault. YOU WERE NOT OPEN! YOUR AUTOMATED SERVICE TOLD ME SO!WHY DO YOU THINK I'M CALLING YOU FIRST THING TODAY!

Hi, we were open all day from 9-5 on 30/12 but closed on 29/12 and half-day on 31/12 - maybe you called on one of those days instead? Anyhow, as you know there were a few other issues with your paperwork over several weeks (with things not adding up) and the incorrectly signed DD seems to have been the final straw. The cancellation was not solely the result of going over the 7 day response time as we would always allow extra time for the Christmas post and indeed we've not cancelled anyone else off over the Christmas break.

The other information that didn't add up was already discussed with the advisor who set up my policy and it was getting sent to you. your comment about things "not adding up" had no part to play in the cancellation as the advisor I was dealing with told me that we need to sort the issue out with the mandate first and foremost and the other information can wait until after. The fact remains, you made a mistake with the mandate I had sent to you not me. And I was not given extra days at Xmas at all,the day I recieved your letter was the day you cancelled my policy. If you were open on the day I tried to call you then why did your automated service say your offices are closed until the 4th of January. Maybe someone should do their job and do an investigation rather than tell me that there is nothing more that can be done and my complaint cannot be resolved. I will be writing a letter to the managing director who may be able to do a better job than Andy,the person I spoke with today,and listen to the calls. Your simple stupid mistake of putting a post-it note with the wrong persons name to be signed left my family without an insured car over this time of year.

That is exactly the reason and i have read above, CK is just saying what they need to say to try and cover their backs. CK did not listen to the previous calls I have had with the advisor that set up the policy who stated the mandate is the most important part so they can take payment. CK's admin team instructed me, on the mandate using post-it notes whose signature is to go where. They put one post-it note with the wrong name on it. There is a legitimate reason why the other documentation has not been recieved which was discussed in detail with the advisor that set up the policy. She did state that if the mandate wasn't received the policy will be cancelled, CK received the mandate but their mistake has lead to the cancellation.

The cancellation was effected as a result of all the combined factors meaning we were no longer comfortable with you as a risk. The incorrectly completed DD was the last in a string of problems.

 

Incorrectly because of your bloody admin mate. Do your job and listen to all the calls before you post your nonsense answer. If your agent was there she would tell you exactly what's been happening, but she's 'OFF' so maybe you should listen to the calls.

Spoken to Ian Willis last week for a quote. He's brilliant all the way through. No pressure at all and gave me lots of options. Asked me to wait for my current insurance renewal quote to arrive first and call back later. He said he'll take 10% off for a like for like quote.

 

Rang back today, and lucky enough that Ian picked up my call again. All sorted now, price was a tiny bit more (added legal cover and 56% less on voluntary excess) but customer service by Ian has won the business really.
