A short tale.....

Well, it all started in the mild month that was March 2004, I was at Twickenham to see the World Champions England fail once again.

At the game, half time came as light relief to what had been a tiresome 40 minutes when upon the big screen came an advert for the best looking car I had seen in years – I had to have one but with the amount I could afford to pay I would probably always be thinking, “what if….â€

What are you getting now?

I picked up a 3 month old Audi A3 2.0T FSI Quattro S-Line Special Edition yesterday - Phew a bit long winded.

Great car it would seem and apparantly only 0.9 secs slower to sixty than the 350!

Have to say that the Quattro does mean amzing starts but not so much fun in the corners! :teeth:

Great story mate. You must have been sad to see it go. My car is identical to yours and is also a 2004 GT, therefore this evening I shall christen my zed Zippy in honour of your trusty steed, so that it's name can live on....

Mate that is great - really made me chuckle, Zippy she is!! :yahoo::yahoo:

Very happy to see that she will live on - Thank you!!

Its a Remap/ECU tuning, best mod you can do on VAG cars for about £500. On my Cupra I gained about 25bhp for £470.More imprtantly a load more torque. Basically plug a REVO Switch into the Serial port and can be switched on/off and tweaked. Undetectable to dealers/insurance companies when switched off.

£499 for 55bhp according to their figures :teeth:

Are you planning on getting REVO for the A3? Would get it a lot closer to the Zed

No mate I hadn't, didn't know what REVO was!!

Coming from the 350 all the "sensible" cars I tried including the A3 with any grunt feel like they are a normal car with a powerful engine which they weren't originally designed or built for - if that makes sense.

The A3/Golf/Leon etc are great cars on a great platform designed to be easy and comfortable to drive, then when you start putting bigger more powerful engines in they become a little uneasy as they are not designed for the speed etc - well that is what I think anyway!

That is one of the reasons I went for the Quattro as it handles the speed/power differently to the FWD and actually gives you a more precise and better pull away and better handling overall. I think I would be trying to get back to the 350 if I were to have it REVO'd (if that is how I should say it) and I think I should just let her be at the moment but I wouldn't rule it out if I decide to keep the car for a bit!!

Thanks again guys for the byyeeees - if anyone wants a brilliant phone cradle there is one available in the Trading Post section!!
